Student Sharing: Usui Reiki Student True Experiences

Emotions · Family · Work · Living · Wishes · Pets

Here are personal accounts from Soul Love Center students after learning Usui Reiki. Some describe using Reiki to steady emotions or repair relationships with parents; others share changes in work and housing, or offer Reiki to their dogs, cats and birds.

To make reading easier, we have categorized the sharing by theme and kept the original text. After each theme, we include related courses and articles to help you understand the holistic wellbeing practices behind these experiences.

⚠️ Reading notice: all accounts describe students' personal experiences. Results vary and do not represent or guarantee any health, financial or other outcome. Reiki is a complementary body, mind and spirit practice and cannot replace medical, financial or other professional advice. To comply with Hong Kong's Undesirable Medical Advertisements Ordinance (Cap. 231), material concerning treatment outcomes for illnesses has been omitted. Accounts involving gambling winnings have also been removed.

Emotions

I. Emotions and Mind: Reiki is a stabilizer of emotions

For many students, the first change they notice is emotional: when facing anxiety, tension or anger, they have another way to help themselves settle.

The Level 1 course includes “understanding how the subconscious affects us” and “working with emotions accumulated in the subconscious”. For details, see Usui Reiki Level 1 Certificate Workshop 。

Family

II. Family and Relationships: Reinterpreting parents

Family relationships are among the most frequent themes in students' accounts. Students describe Reiki as helping them understand their parents from a broader perspective and giving them greater capacity to offer companionship when family members face difficulties.

The theme of family relationships and 'family karma' is discussed in greater depth in the Advanced Level course 'Reiki Family Constellations: The I Ching Philosophy' at Soul Love Center, see more details at Advanced Reiki Certification Workshop and I Ching, Family Constellations and Reiki: Three Approaches to Deeper Healing . Distant Reiki is covered in the Intermediate Course teaching.

Work

Three: Work and Interpersonal Relationships: Transformation of Environment and Attitude

The content related to 'wish fulfillment' and 'prayer' falls under Usui Reiki Level 2 “connecting with universal energy for blessings and wishes” and “helping wishes come true more effectively”. Common Threads

7. Participant sharing common points

From the above sharing, we can see several recurring elements:

Common points Participant quotes Corresponding practice
Continuous practice 「When using Reiki, please always maintain practice.」 Daily Self-Healing Hand Position
Respect and care for parents 「Respect and care for parents, so they are happy and not worried.」 Family Constellations, Five Reiki Principles 'Treat others with kindness'
Take responsibility for oneself 「Each person must take responsibility for their thoughts, words, and actions.」 The Reiki principle “work diligently”
Gratitude 「I have come to understand the importance of gratitude and perseverance.」 Five Reiki Principles 'Be grateful'
Do not give up 「Giving up is not a choice.」 The spirit of 'Heng' from the I Ching

These themes echo the Five Principles left by Mikao Usui: just for today, do not be angry, do not worry, be grateful, work diligently and be kind to others. For their history, read What Is Usui Reiki? A Complete Introduction to Mikao Usui and Reiki and Mikao Usui 。

I Ching

8. The I Ching perspective: 'Heng' and transformation

The Constant Hexagram: Holding steady

The most common reminder from students is 'to persist in practice'. The 32nd hexagram of the I Ching, The Constant, says: 'Constant, lasting... the Dao of heaven and earth is constant and unceasing.' Transformation is not achieved in a single class, but through the accumulation over time.

The Family Hexagram: The cultivation of family relations

The 37th hexagram, The Family, 'The Image Transmission' says: 'A gentleman speaks with substance and acts with consistency.' This means that speech should have content and actions should be consistent. Many students improve their relationships with parents by starting with changes in their words and actions.

Adversity giving way to prosperity: The transformation of hardship

Moving from debt to improved finances, or from a difficult workplace to cooperative colleagues, echoes the I Ching's transformation between Tai (Hexagram 11) and Pi (Hexagram 12). Cathy Wong also describes her experience as adversity giving way to prosperity. For details, see Cathy Wong: The Healing Journey of an IARP-Registered Reiki Master Teacher 。

Read Wisely

Nine: How to read students' sharing rationally

  • Personal experiences: Sharing represents students' feelings and interpretations, and cannot be generalized to everyone.
  • Multiple factors: Changes in life usually involve personal efforts, others, and the environment, and should not be attributed solely to Reiki.
  • No guarantee: No course or Reiki treatment can guarantee health, financial results, or other specific outcomes.
  • Medical priority: The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health (NCCIH) states that Reiki has not been clearly proven effective for any health purpose, and there are no harmful effects reported. Reiki cannot replace medical care; if you have health concerns, please consult a registered doctor.
